Immunization Awareness Month*
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) sponsors National Immunization Awareness Month in August to highlight the importance of vaccination for people of all ages. Use CDC’s educational and promotional resources to encourage people to stay up to date on recommended vaccines during the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s a great time to explore Healthy People 2030 Vaccination objectives to learn about national efforts to increase vaccination rates.
CMS Appendix PP Definitions**
“Medication Regimen Review (MRR)” or Drug Regimen Review is a thorough evaluation of the
medication regimen of a resident, with the goal of promoting positive outcomes and minimizing
adverse consequences and potential risks associated with medication. The MRR includes review of the medical record in order to prevent, identify, report, and resolve medication-related
problems, medication errors, or other irregularities. The MRR also involves collaborating with
other members of the interdisciplinary team, including the resident, their family, and/or resident representative.
Entresto (sacubitril & valsartan)***
- Combination product that is used to treat Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction or Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction
- May be administered with or without food
- Should NOT be given with an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor or angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB)
- Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, potassium levels
- Not generically available
