The management of complex medication regimens is challenging and requires diverse pharmaceutical services and formal mechanisms to safely handle and control medications, to maintain accurate and timely medication records, and to minimize medication related adverse consequences or events. These could include inhalers, eye drops, creams, ointments, liquids or insulins. Consider having the physician sign an order allowing the resident to take these medications with them upon discharge from the facility, providing the order is still active.
