National Melanoma Skin Cancer Awareness Month**

“National Melanoma Skin Cancer Prevention Month aims to raise awareness about skin cancer, increasing the chances of early detection so treatments can be given early. It’s vital that skin cancers such as melanoma, a rarer & often deadly form of skin cancer, is treated early as later stage treatments are not normally effective.”

Identifying Melanoma and Skin Cancer*

“The ABCDE melanoma signs are as follows:
A – Asymmetrical Shape
B – Border
C – Color
D – Diameter
E – Evolution

Knowing what is normal for YOU could save your life. If a mole has gone through recent changes in color and/or size, bring it to the attention of your provider immediately.”
